The Department of Economics was founded in 1996 and admitted its first students in 1998.
Personnel
The Department’s faculty members have extensive teaching experience and research records in high quality journals.
Undergraduate studies
The undergraduate program covers a wide range of modules in micro- and
macroeconomics, public and monetary economics, labor economics,
industrial organization and entrepreneurship, international trade and
European economics, economic history, finance and accounting and
quantitative methods (mathematics, statistics and econometrics). The
elective courses are classified in two groups: 1. Economic Analysis and
Policy 2. Applied Economics and Quantitative Methods
Postgraduate studies
The Department offers a postgraduate program in Economics
PhD studies
The Department offers a doctoral program (Ph.D) in Economics.
Complementary actions
The Department also supports the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the University of Ioannina by offering entrepreneurship courses to all students on campus. The Department is an active participant in ERASMUS+ program having around 90 interdepartmental agreements with universities throughout Europe.
